Vacation 2023

$ With young children, the use of a hip carrier can make longer lines more tolerable
$ Shelf stable, ultra pasteurized milk can be a good substitute during the trip if the child needs milk
$ Plan for a down day (unstructured) in the middle of the vacation to just hang out at or near the hotel.
? Bring new toys to occupy the children’s time
? Bring melatonin as a backup if the children needs help adjusting to time differences
? Bring some downloaded videos with you on the flight in case the kids need it to remain calm

$ Well maintained and secure
$ The rooms are kept clean every day
$ Resort amentities are good quality and well thought out
$ Rooms are equipped with Chromecast
$ Special requests (Such as cribs) were handled well
? A little expensive using cash.
? Fridge was on the smaller side but was servicable
! Parking costs about $30 a night
! Parking lot is quite far from the actual hotel
! Concierge phone didn't seem to connect all the times we've tried
% A great deal if you had the points for it (12k/night as of '23)
% Laundry cost is $5 per wash/dry
% Don't bother with the fireworks view rooms; It's too far from the park for it to be worth the cost ($20/night)

$ The Satu'li Canteen has good food at fair prices.
$ Genie Plus is indispensable with children if you want to ride anything popular
$ Safari was a hit for children
$ Nemo show is very well produced
? Should definitely watch the IP before going to the shows
! Never ended up going to the Flight of Passage ride - Lightning lane fills up fast
! Navi River Journey is a huge bore - Only go if you love the IP
! Feathered friends in flight is a cool concept, but the execution is totally a mess

$ Atlantis is really cool as a museum
$ The cafeteria food is decent; Cuban sandwich probably best value.
? Pretty child friendly, but really meant for 8+ and for kids who are into space
? There space simulator might be cool for teenagers and under
% Go Monday, as it is the slowest day of the week
- it’s possible to finish everything in one day if there are no lines

$ The parade is a big hit with children
? Getting Genie+ was generally not that effective when visiting princesses, since there’s still a 30 minute wait after entry
? You won’t get to ride most of the big rides if the children can’t queue for longer than 80 minutes (generally the average)
! You won’t get the most out of the park if the children can’t stay past 9pm
! There is insufficient shade from the sun; bringing something to lessen sun exposure is recommended
! Do not go to the country bear jamboree
% Plan for 45 minutes to get from the parking lot to the front of the park if you’re not staying on property
% There is a baby care area across all parks. They do sell various baby items, but expect a 60% markup.
% Using the app is a must.
